A Morning Walk in Desert Silence

On a Morning Walk
Sounds of feet on soft gravel,
birdsong celebrating new day,
and doves calling out
as mountains reach
into brilliant blue sky.
My jacket feels heavy
in the cool air
of this desert silence.
