- Breathe Into Being: Awakening to Who you Really Are (Quest Books, May, 2009)
“Dennis Lewis has written a very wise and highly readable book about one of the most fundamental insights of the great spiritual traditions: the breath is a mediator between mind and body, and is a bridge to the transcendent. This is a marvelous guidebook in cultivating awareness and living in the now.”–Larry Dossey, M.D., author of Healing Words and The Power Of Premonitions
“We all know that breathing is essential to life. But this book helps us to discover its immense importance not only to physical life, but to the very meaning of what we are and what we can become.”–Jacob Needleman, author of Why Can’t We Be Good? and The American Soul

- Free Your Breath, Free Your Life (Shambhala Publications, 2004)
“Dennis Lewis has a deep understanding of the central importance of breathing, in both its physical and spiritual dimensions—as the breath of life and the breath of the spirit. This book is a practical and inspiring guide to opening yourself to the larger energies of life through the medium of the breath. Highly recommended!”—John Welwood, author of Toward a Psychology of Awakening.
“This is by far the most compelling and complete book on breathing I’ve ever read. It is ‘must’ reading for everyone who is interested in optimal health.”–Christiane Northrup, M.D., author of Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom and The Wisdom of Menopause.
- The Tao of Natural Breathing (Rodmell Press, 2006).
“The small, comprehensive, exquisite book spreads before the reader the knowledge and guided breathing experiences necessary to begin to return to natural breathing. … a beautiful exploration of breathing. … Just reading the book is a meditative experience.”–Somatics Magazine-Journal
“Insightful in its breadth and simple in its presentation, The Tao of Natural Breathing offers something new… Dennis Lewis presents practices that are less about control and more about letting go. He gently entices us to allow our conscious breath to become the teacher, the healer, and the expression of our soul.”–Judith Hanson Lasater, Ph.D., P.T., author of 30 Essential Yoga Poses
- Natural Breathing (audio program, Sounds True, 1998-2005)
“Lewis offers several simple techniques designed to return us to “natural breathing,” and in the process “re-member” our natural selves. He begins with a detailed account of the mechanics of breathing; the physical, psychological, and spiritual consequences of poor breathing; and the many benefits of natural breathing, which is an “open door” to both material and spiritual realms. The two background sessions are especially good. The body and breath exercises in session three help cultivate self-awareness. Session four includes five meditations. The awareness exercises are pretty simple and probably most useful to beginners, while the meditations will appeal to all levels of students.”–Yoga Journal (March/April 1999)
