Do you suppose the sun is influenced by that upon which it shines its light and gives its warmth? Real presence, loving consciousness, does not arise only when the mind is peaceful and content. What good would that be? No, it offers its light and warmth right in the midst of chaos and turmoil and agitation and what we call our troubles. But I need to welcome it. I need to pay attention. I need to listen.

Harmonious Awakening 
I always feel completely different when the ‘Sun comes out from behind a cloud’ as a child would say, when the clouds clear and the sun shines clearly again, it totally turns my mood around even if the curtains are still closed. Here in the UK we certainly welcome it at the moment after a miserable black time, theres a step in the air of spring as we welcome its return and the first snowdrops arise from the soggy ground.
By learning to smile at all my being that is reflected in the light of this Sun, I welcome and accept all being with the same smile. In silence I feel the change that occurs in the chaos and the attention brings me to stay there.
